Green Medical Alert can be issued by the Commanding officer or Officer in Charge.
It is put into effect when the ship needs to be converted to an emergency medical facility. For Ex: If the ship is responding to a major earthquake and will be bringing many injured aboard.
Blue Medical Alert - Quarantine
Used as a precaution to Quarantine an individual or individuals in order to prevent a potential ship wide outbreak or contamination. During the Blue medical alert crew members continue with their normal daily routines, however, backup power is diverted to the sickbays Quarantine area in order to ensure that the Quarantine is not breached.
Yellow Medical Alert - Potential Shipboard Outbreak
This alert can be activated by any member of the medical, science or counseling staff, and can also be triggered by the computer and/or a ship EMH.
The Yellow Medical Alert status can be put into effect when:
A small area such as Sickbay or science lab is exposed to a possibly harmful substance or a biological organism (such as bacteria or Virus) and it is contained to that area.
During this status, all ventilation to the deck of exposure is to be shut down and the deck is to be sealed. Are personnel on the deck are to remain the current section they are in and await instructions. Only authorized medical personnel in hazard duties are to move around said deck.
Red Medical Alert - Ship wide Medical Emergency
This alert can be activated by any medical, science or counseling staff, as well as the computer or EMH.
During this mode, all staff with any medical training are to report to sickbay for orders. cargo bays that can be and the mess hall are converted into emergency triage wards. The Red Medical Alert status can be put into effect when:
Should any substance or a biological organism (such as bacteria or Virus) that may cause physical or mental harm to the crew be detected this alert status is automatic and ship wide. In the case or a biological or chemical threat, all ventilation systems are to be shut down. All decks and sections are to be sealed and the ship is to be fully quietened. Only authorized personnel with special hazard suits are permitted to move about the ship.
